Hey everyone, happy Tuesday.
This past week has been a big one for me full of transition and change. I had another topic planned for today, but I felt it was important to share more vulnerably instead.
I created this newsletter not only to show up in my creative goals and empower you, but also to be real, honest, and human. Because when we show up authentically, we empower one another. I’m excited about building a community of people committed to being well, becoming whole, and moving forward in their goals. Life isn’t about going backward; it’s about pressing forward with focus, commitment, and intention.
Last week, I shared a very personal post on Threads about the end of my marriage. It’s important to note that this has been an amicable process we’ve taken steps to separate with grace and to support each other as we step into new chapters. I realize, through many of the responses to my post, that not everyone has had that kind of ending. Divorce, in whatever form it takes, is still loss, and it hurts.
I was deeply moved by the responses I received. They were filled with encouragement, kindness, and support. What impacted me most was realizing how many people resonated with my story. Too often, we walk through life’s hardest seasons in silence, but when we share openly, healing begins.
The Gift of Grief
For me, grief has been a strange kind of gift. After years of feeling numb, I now feel deeply the pain, yes, but also the hope. It reminds me of who I want to be: a father who shows up fully, who is present, and who embraces life, even when it’s hard.
Grief comes in waves. You walk by a store and suddenly remember a family moment. You’re at the gym, and tears come unexpectedly. I’ve had to step away, even to the bathroom, just to avoid embarrassment. But even in those moments, I remind myself: I am feeling again. And in feeling, I’m reconnecting with what matters most.
For that, I am thankful.
A Few Thoughts to Encourage You This Week
1. You get to choose your response.
We can’t always control how others act, but we can control how we respond. Even if others don’t extend grace or kindness, we still decide how we show up, live, and move forward. Don’t let someone else’s expectations define your future shape it through your words, actions, and intentions.
2. Honesty is strength, not weakness.
When we show up candidly, we create space for growth, support, and connection. I’ve often questioned whether I share too much. Should I just stick to “safe” content and carry on? But I’ve learned that vulnerability is not weakness it’s power. Sharing openly helps us take back control of our story.
We are reminded that we’re not alone , others share our struggles. Isolation makes us feel judged or like failures, but honesty reminds us we belong and that together, we can move forward.
3. Acknowledge where you are, but don’t stay there.
The way forward is about creating goals that lead us into growth and success. However, it is important to lean into the now. What is it teaching you? How is this moment fueling you? Take it for all its worth and once you have done that, move on. Move on to be better, to grow, to succeed and to step into your opportunity. These lessons are here to strengthen and prepare us to take on the new season.
It’s about thriving, living with purpose, and pursuing our passions. Whether in business, relationships, wellness, or personal growth, we move forward by acknowledging the present without accepting it as permanent. We are just passing through this temporary moment. Pain teaches us. Grief reminds us we are human. And healing shows us the road ahead. It with intention we decide to move on, and not for any reason because we must and we can.
Thanks again for being here. Be kind to yourself and give yourself grace.
Let’s keep moving forward together.
